“You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly.”
Sam Keen
The prevailing ideal of perfect love is a major obstacle to establishing an enduring and profound love.
Obtaining the basic need of feeling loved and accepted is integral to having a complete human experience. This need includes romantic relationships, friendships, and familial relations.
Yet “Love,” surrounded by all of it narratives and stories, become such an illustrious pursuit.
It contains the innate ability to both make us whole, and destroy us to our core. We are in constant pursuance of its elixir, while in fear of the innate havoc it contains. This juxtaposition creates a misalignment between two intentions the lead to opposing outcomes.
Pretty damn confusing to want the exact things that we are absolutely certain will ultimately destroy us. And then we are left wondering why “Love” is so confusing.
Join us for a night of investigating the complexities of “Love” and the misconceptions it breeds.
