Signed Freud defined Resistance as the repression of unconscious drives from integration into conscious awareness.
YET...
According to many philosophers, such as Heraclitus, “Life is flux.” Everything is constantly shifting, and becoming something other to what it was before. As the very nature of life is change, to resist this natural flow is to resist the very essence of our existence. “There is nothing permanent except change.”
So what do we do with that? There seems to be a natural opposing dichotomy between 2 inherent principles. In this human experience we will constantly be at the mercy of life’s inevitable tether to change, and our inherent impulse to resist it.
An active refusal to embrace change as a necessary and normal part of life. Which will ultimately lead to suffering, pain, and disappointment.
Everything changes, the question is, do we change with it? Or do we remain in a state of resistance to what is.
