The perceived threat to a bond that we care greatly about can bring out the ugly versions of The Self that we would prefer to stay hidden.
Feelings of jealousy can leave us feeling insecure, rejected, worried, angry, self deprecating, self doubting, amongst so many more less desirable feelings.
The person emerges from the rubble of jealousy can be a stranger, that embodies all of our worst qualities.
A perceived threat that leaves us in a constant state of shame and insecurity.
We are left with the backlash of the decisions that we make from that state of mind, and many of those consequences leave us devastated.
